The Origin

Created in 1994 under the name VMS, the MS Pétanque brand quickly established itself as a leader in the petanque industry. The name VMS pays homage to the founders of the company, with the "S" for Henri Salvador, famous singer and petanque enthusiast.

MS Pétanque boules are entirely made in France, in Haute-Marne, and are distinguished by their unique forging process. This manufacturing method allows you to obtain boules with an anti-rebound structure thanks to precision stamping. This process ensures a reduction in nervous reactions on the field, thus guaranteeing a consistent performance.

The Evolution

Since 2017, under the direction of Mr. Sanchez, a former employee of the company since 1996, MS Pétanque has continued to grow. In January 2021, the company moved to a new building designed to optimize production and improve employee working conditions. Petanque courts have even been set up to organize events on site.

Since 2022, MS Pétanque has also invested in the automation of its machines, thus guaranteeing unparalleled precision in the weighing and control of each boule.

Their Technology

MS Pétanque boules are the only ones on the market to be manufactured by forging, a process which offers exceptional characteristics. The boules benefit from full fibering and an internal anti-rebound structure (internal grooves and ribs), allowing a reduction in rebound and limited recoil during impacts. The welding system ensures a reduced hardness gap between the weld bead and the rest of the boule, thus providing optimal balancing.

Manufacturing

Made of carbon steel with added chromium and molybdenum or chrome stainless steel, MS Pétanque boules are available in different diameters and weights, adapted to all the requirements of players, whether they are pointers or shooters.

Boules Markings

MS Pétanque boules have complete markings including all the important information on them :

1. Weight
2. Diameter last digit (ex: 73 = 3)
3. Brand identification (logo)
4. Year of manufacture (number) and production period (letter)
5. Unique serial number

To better distinguish one model from another after wear, certain marking details are present at the beginning of the unique serial number :

• STRA (A) / STRX (X)
• LSX (X) / INOX (Z)

Some models also have their own distinctive marking such as :

• 2110 (The "2110" replaces the MS logo.)
• L'IT (The boule model is marked in addition to the MS logo.)
• MS 120 ("120" is marked to the right of the MS logo.)

The Origin

Founded in 1952, the DATA company first distinguished itself in precision mechanics and aeronautics. Driven by passion for sport and visual pleasure, DATA has innovated by creating colored boules to revitalize the sport of Lyonnaise boules. This expertise naturally led them to the manufacture of high-level petanque boules.

Manufacturing

Boulenciel petanque boules are designed with remarkable precision, using digitally controlled machines. Each boule begins in the form of a bar of stainless steel or carbon, from which two ground half-shells are extracted. These shells are then hardened by heat treatment to obtain a soft or semi-soft boule, depending on the player's preferences..

Once welded and ground to ensure a sphericity of less than 0.02 mm, the boules are balanced with exceptional precision, less than 0.01 mm of the total weight.

Boulenciel is the only brand to offer boules entirely manufactured with digital controls, ensuring unparalleled precision and quality.

Superior Quality

Created in 2008 by the Data family in Italy, the Boulenciel brand stands out from other petanque boule manufacturers. It offers boules recognized as the most balanced in the world, thanks to unique manufacturing processes.

In addition to external turning, each boule is also machined in-house and benefits from final grinding, ensuring unrivaled uniformity and performance. Hardness is consistent across the entire surface, ensuring exceptional durability and consistency.

Unique Products

The IRIS range from Boulenciel is distinguished by its unique design with its colorful boules. The Italian company also offers an original collection of petanque boules inspired by the well-known planets : Venus, Mars, Saturn and Mercury, thus offering a playing experience that is as aesthetic as it is distinctive.
