Marketed in 2023 and approved for competition, La Continental is a soft-core carbon boule with a durable glossy black treatment, allowing it to spin on impact.

Field Type :

Due to its very satiny texture, this model can exhibit very nervous reactions on certain types of field and have a tendency to slip a lot. We therefore advise you to play them upon sending.

Technology :

The Boulenciel brand stands out by offering the most balanced petanque boules in the world. To achieve this unrivaled level of precision, each boule benefits from an innovative manufacturing process. This process, constituting a world novelty in the field, includes turning on the exterior AND interior surface, followed by final grinding.

This unique method makes it possible to obtain a sphericity precision of the diameter of +/- 0.02 mm and a balancing precision less than or equal to 0.1% of the weight of the boule. This remarkable accuracy is made possible through the use of numerically controlled machines during manufacturing.

Finish :

These carbon boules are coated with a satin anti-corrosion varnish. Over the course of use and friction on the ground, this coating becomes scratched, diminishes and eventually disappears. Once the coating is removed, the boules will offer more grip in the hand and on the court, thus slightly modifying their behavior in the game.

La Continental is distinguished by its satin and shiny finish. Some like this surface for the slip it offers on the ground, while others may find it slightly slippery in the hand for a carbon model.

It is also important to note that La Continental wears faster than a traditional semi-soft at 120 kg/mm² due to its thin nitrite layer. Once this layer is worn, the boule becomes more prone to marks.

Whether new or after some wear, some carbon boules may show a slight mark (red in some cases) at the weld seam of the shells, especially after playing in the rain or if they have remained damp without being wiped. This happens frequently, but does not affect the quality or performance of the boules.
