Boules
Is it usual for the black coating on my carbon steel triplet to fade after the first few games ?
Yes it's normal. The black coating fades naturally and disappears over time, because it only constitutes a protective layer aimed at preserving new boules from oxidation.
Is it common to see a solder mark on the boules ?
Yes, it's totally normal. Petanque boules are made up of two half-spheres that are welded together, and it is possible to see the weld mark, especially on carbon steel models.
Please also note that small dots may also appear on carbon boules from the Boulenciel company, because this corresponds to the protective layer covering the boule.
How does the manufacturing warranty work for my triplet ?
The length of the warranty varies depending on the manufacturer, model and hardness of the boules. You will easily find the specific warranty period in the product description sheet in question.
Please also note that the warranty does not include normal wear and tear, theft or loss of a boule.
If your boules are cracked, broken or punctured, please contact us indicating your order number and providing a photo of the defect. If the defect is visible in the photos, we will ask you to send your triplet back to us for an assessment. Shipping costs are your responsibility.
If a defect is found, the triplet will be covered by the warranty and shipping costs will be refunded. Otherwise, no exchange can be made, and the costs will remain the responsibility of the customer.
The serial number is not the same on the three boules.
Please contact us by email at info@letreiz.com and provide us with a photo containing the three serial numbers, as well as another photo of the front of the box for the boules from the MS Pétanque company. For boules from the Obut and Boulenciel companies, please include a photo of the warranty card if present.
The indicated weight does not correspond to the actual weight.
Manufacturers tolerate a weight variation of plus or minus 5 grams on a petanque boule. For example, if you order a triplet with 710 grams boules, their weight can vary between 705 and 715 grams.
The diameter indicated does not correspond to the actual diameter.
Just like for the weight of the boules, manufacturers allow a manufacturing tolerance of plus or minus 0.5 mm on the diameter of a petanque boule. For example, if oyou order a triplet with 74 mm boules, it is possible that they will measure between 73.5 and 74.5 mm.
Can I have emojis engraved on my triplet ?
In accordance with article 4.2 of the International Federation of Petanque and Provençal Game (FIPJP) :
"In general, the boules must neither have been rigged nor have undergone any transformation or modification after their machining by approved manufactuers."
Currently, only manufactuer Obut offers the engraving of emojis.
For us, it is essential not to alter a ball leaving the manufacturer's factory, thus respecting article 4.2 of the FIPJP.
It is therefore preferable that the engraving is carried out by the manufacturer in order to preserve the balancing of the boule. If you are considering ordering personalized boules with engraving, do not hesitate to contact us. We will be happy to guide you according to the restrictions specific to different models.
