Description :

This carbon boule was specially designed for Diego Rizzi, the multiple Italian champion. Offered in limited edition, the RD combines performance and exclusivity. Manufactured with precision using numerically controlled machines, this part benefits from optimal balancing and impeccable sphericity.

Use :

This model of petanque boules is particularly suitable for shooters.

Field Type :

Reacts particularly well on hard fields and when played at high range. They stop quickly after impact on the ground.

Technology :

The Boulenciel brand stands out by offering the most balanced petanque boules in the world. To achieve this unrivaled level of precision, each boule benefits from an innovative manufacturing process. This process, constituting a world novelty in the field, includes turning on the exterior AND interior surface, followed by final grinding.

This unique method makes it possible to obtain a sphericity precision of the diameter of +/- 0.02 mm and a balancing precision less than or equal to 0.1% of the weight of the boule. This remarkable accuracy is made possible through the use of numerically controlled machines during manufacturing.

Finish :

These carbon boules are coated with a satin anti-corrosion varnish. Over the course of use and friction on the ground, this coating becomes scratched, diminishes and eventually disappears. Once the coating is removed, the boules will offer more grip in the hand and on the court, thus slightly modifying their behavior in the game.

**✪ Le Treiz Note** :

This boule, recognizable by the engraved "Alien face", is ideal for lovers of very soft boules. Although it wears out more quickly due to its softness, RD offers excellent performance and is very popular with players. Its behavior on the field makes it a preferred choice for those looking for optimal performance, despite a potentially shorter lifespan.

Whether new or after some wear, some carbon boules may show a slight mark (red in some cases) at the weld seam of the shells, especially after playing in the rain or if they have remained damp without being wiped. This happens frequently, but does not affect the quality or performance of the boules.

Carbon steel maintenance

Carbon steel petanque boules require regular maintenance to slow down oxidation.

Advice :

⭑ Do not leave your boules in the trunk of your car, it is exposed to sudden temperature variations which lead to condensation. These high humidity conditions will, in the long run, be detrimental to your boules by promoting their oxidation. So remember to take your boules out of the trunk of your car to store them indoors, dry.

Manufacturing Tolerances

According to Article 8 of the Conditions required for the approval of competition petanque boules of the FIPJP :

a) Manufacturing tolerance on each boule :
The maximum difference between the engraved weight and the actual weight cannot be greater than + or - 5 grams.

b) Tolerance for wear due to play :
Weight loss must not exceed 15 grams below the marked weight.

MANUFACTURING TOLERANCE :

Weight Tolerance :
The maximum difference between engraved weight and actual weight does not exceed +/- 5 grams.

Ex : If you order a triplet with 710 gram boules, the actual weight of each boule may vary between 705 and 715 grams.

Diameter Tolerance :
The manufacturing tolerance for diameter is +/- 0.5 mm.

Ex : If you order a triplet with 74mm diameter boules, the actual diameter of each boule may vary between 73.5 and 74.5mm.

Tolerance for high-end models :
Some high-end models benefit from tighter tolerances :
• Weight Tolerance : +/- 2 grams
• Diameter Tolerance : +/- 0.3 mm
